They were leading the public to believe that most dog poop bags were biodegradable. These bags would cause no harm to the environment, even after being tossed into landfills. If a product claims to be natural, organic, or biodegradable, we tend to believe the label, though often times, those labels are misleading. According to the FTC, “Those who market biodegradable products should have the evidence to prove that their products will break down and return to nature within a reasonably short period of time.” Most companies that produce pet waste removal bags simply don’t have the evidence to back up their claims.

BioDOGradable Bags—Bags are made from a bioplastic compound made from cereal flour and biodegradable polymers. This company is careful to point that “claims of 100% degradation or biodegradation are difficult to prove.” Their bags are designed however, to be composted in your backyard or disposed of in an industrial facility.
When used correctly, these bags are the best choice when it comes to scooping poop. We all know the consequences that occur when we choose to leave pet waste on the ground. Whether you toss, flush, or compost, you’re doing your part to keep dog poop off the streets, and the lawns of your neighborhood.
