Keeping Your Yard Fresh and Pet-Friendly All Year Long

As a Utah dog owner, you take pride in keeping your yard healthy and looking great, but balancing work, family, and daily responsibilities can make that goal challenging. Even with the best intentions, tasks like picking up after your dog can fall through the cracks. That’s where Rocky Mountain Pooper Scoopers steps in. Our team ensures your lawn stays clean and clear of landmines throughout the year—but to give you the best service possible, we rely on your help each time we visit. Below are a few simple ways you can make our job more efficient and keep your yard in top condition.

Access to Your Yard

When your service day arrives, it’s essential that our technician can easily enter your yard. Please make sure your gate is unlocked before we arrive—especially if you won’t be at home. If you need a lock or have trouble with your current one, we can provide a replacement as part of your service plan.

If a locked gate prevents us from entering, we are unable to complete your cleaning. In those cases, your appointment must be rescheduled, and the service fee for that day will still apply.

Cut Your Grass

To ensure no waste is overlooked, our technicians need to see where your dog has been. Tall or thick grass can hide pet droppings, making the cleaning process less effective. Keeping your lawn trimmed helps us locate everything quickly and ensures your yard stays sanitary.

Experts recommend mowing your yard to around three inches, which not only helps with waste visibility but also reduces mosquito populations and keeps your lawn healthier overall. After trimming, maintaining consistent lawn care will make each visit more productive.

Trash and Debris

For the safety of our team, please make sure any loose trash, clutter, or debris is cleared away before our arrival. When items like buckets, toys, or yard waste accumulate, rainwater can settle inside them. This standing water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects, creating unsafe conditions for our technicians.

If we determine that the yard is not safe or accessible due to debris, the cleaning visit will not be completed. The appointment will still be billed, so keeping the space tidy helps everyone involved.

Dog(s)

We are perfectly comfortable working while your dog is in the yard—as long as your dog is friendly and non-aggressive. If your pet shows signs of protective or defensive behavior, please bring them indoors during our visit. This ensures the safety of our team and prevents unnecessary stress for your dog. Once the cleaning is finished, your dog can return outside immediately.

Water

In some cases, our cleaning process requires access to a working water source. Please ensure the outdoor spigot is easy to locate and available for use when needed. Having this ready helps us complete patio or yard rinsing quickly and efficiently.

When our work is done, we leave your yard exactly as we found it—just cleaner. And before we head out, we always leave a treat for your dog(s) as a little thank-you for sharing their space with us.
