Tired of Arguing Over Who Scoops the Yard? Here’s the Stress-Free Solution

If you share your home with one dog—or several—you already know the truth: dogs do what dogs do, and someone has to clean up after them. For many households, deciding who handles dog poop cleanup turns into a recurring argument. Instead of letting pet waste become another source of tension, there’s a simpler option—hand the job to professionals and enjoy a cleaner yard without the hassle.

Rocky Mountain Pooper Scoopers provides reliable, routine dog poop pickup so you don’t have to think about it at all. We visit your home on a regular schedule—most commonly weekly—and remove dog waste from your yard quickly and thoroughly. Our job is simple: we take care of the mess so you can enjoy your outdoor space again.

Naturally, homeowners have questions. How does the service work? What does it cost? What areas are covered? Below, we’ve answered the most common questions we receive from Utah pet owners.

How Much Does Dog Poop Pickup Cost?

Our pricing is straightforward and affordable. Weekly dog poop pickup starts at $18 per week for one dog, with an additional $3 per week for each extra dog. For billing purposes, we consider most four-legged pets that regularly leave waste in your yard—such as dogs, outdoor cats, or even tortoises—as part of that count.

Many of our customers also choose to add our sanitizing and deodorizing service for an additional $5 per week, which helps neutralize odors and reduces bacteria in areas where pets frequently relieve themselves.

For first-time customers, an initial deep-clean service is required. This one-time startup fee begins at $35 and may increase depending on how much accumulated waste needs to be removed before regular maintenance begins.

If you prefer bi-weekly service, simply double the weekly rate and subtract 5% to determine your discounted every-other-week price.

What Areas in Utah Do You Serve?

We proudly provide pet waste removal throughout the Greater Salt Lake City area, including communities such as Sandy, West Jordan, and Taylorsville. Our routes are designed to ensure dependable, on-time service across these neighborhoods, making professional dog poop cleanup easy and accessible for Utah families.

What Happens During a Yard Visit?

Every visit follows a proven system designed to ensure no mess is overlooked. Our technicians use a grid-style inspection method, moving systematically across your yard to locate and remove all visible pet waste—including those hidden “surprises” in corners, gravel, or landscaping.

When necessary, waste embedded in gravel or decorative rock is removed carefully by hand to ensure a thorough cleanup. Once collected, all dog poop is securely bagged and placed into your household trash bin unless you’ve opted for removal off-site.

If you’ve chosen the sanitizing and deodorizing add-on, we apply treatment to areas where waste or pet urine is found before completing the visit. Finally, we make sure all gates are securely closed so pets remain safely contained.

Do I Need to Be Home During Service?

Not at all. Most of our customers are at work or away during the day. As long as we have access to your yard, we can complete the service without you being present.

If you’d like to meet us during your first visit—or introduce us to your dog—we’re happy to coordinate a specific time window. Just let us know what works best for you.

How Do I Pay for Dog Waste Removal Services?

We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. After your initial visit, your payment method is stored securely using Stripe’s encrypted payment system, ensuring safe and seamless billing for future visits.

Charges are processed automatically after each scheduled service, so you never have to worry about checks, invoices, or missed payments.

How Do You Prevent the Spread of Waste-Borne Diseases?

Preventing cross-contamination is a top priority. After every yard visit, our technicians thoroughly sanitize hands, tools, and footwear. In higher-risk environments, shoe covers are used, and all scooping baskets are lined with fresh trash bags before entering the next property.

These precautions significantly reduce the risk of spreading waste-borne illnesses such as canine parvovirus from yard to yard. Additionally, by removing pet waste regularly, we help eliminate odors and discourage flies—common carriers of bacteria that can travel from waste to food and living spaces.

What Happens to the Dog Poop After It’s Picked Up?

By default, all collected waste is bagged and disposed of in your home’s trash bin. If you prefer not to use your trash can, we also offer off-site waste removal for an additional $2 per week.

Are Contracts Required?

No contracts. There’s no long-term commitment and no minimum service requirement. You’re free to cancel at any time with 24 hours’ notice, giving you flexibility and peace of mind.
